This nifty piece of hardware will efficiently terminate a 1/8" or 3/16" diameter wire rope cable with a 1/2-13 stud. It is intended for use with bare wire rope cable ONLY.  Most wire rope has a nylon coating (jacket).  A small amount of jacketing can be striped off to properly install this adapter. Not recommended for any other rope other than STEEL wire rope.
There are 3 set screws that mount the cable in the lug.  As pictured, you see only two set screws.  That is because the 3rd set screw is opposite the two in plain view.  This gives a staggered friction connection after the set screws have  been tightened to prevent cable slippage.  When the set screws have been tightened, the cable inside of the lug bulkhead takes an "S" shape - which lends high strength holding power to the adapter.
This adapter is typically used on exercise equipment to connect the cable to a weight stack weighing anywhere from 100 lb to 400 lbs.  We have no data on what the weight limit is beyond 400 lbs, so 400 lbs is our published maximum weight capacity for this adapter.
With this adapter installed, you are now ready to connect the stud to anything that can accept a 1/2-13 thread.  Or, mount into a 1/2" diameter hole and install a 1/2-13 retaining nut on the other side.  The stud has 1.125" of threads for mounting.  You can add a 1/2-13 jam nut to prevent loosening.
