Used in a research setting, mostly in media prep. Glass pipets have been repeatedly washed using a vigorous industrial dishwasher and steam-sterilized. The volume-coding blue patches therefore faded or absent. The tapered tips bear the brunt of rattling around in the sterilizing can, and we've discarded any obviously damaged ones, although some may have very small bits missing. None are cracked or have palpably sharp spots. To a wariable degree, the pipets show a whitish discoloration that may be hard water or agar residues inside the glass. A photo with a black background, not depicting the item for sale, is included solely to illustrate this phenomenon, which isn't evident on the light background needed to show pipet markings. The sterilizing can shows oxidation of the stainless steel due to its history of repeated harsh cleaning, plus some tape and pen residues. Lid and body fit snugly; neither appears dented. Photos with a white background depict the condition of the item for sale.
