This offering is for a 1963 Vatican City 83.5% silver City 500 Lire piece marking the Sede Vacante (vacant seat) awaiting the nomination the nomination of the new Pope, Paul VI. This coin is in uncirculated condition and comes mounted in the original red leatherette case (bit of wear on corners & pinhole in fold). There’s dark reddish toning around the obverse rim. Particulars are: KM Catalog# 75; raised lettered edge; approximately 29mm in diameter; contains .2953 troy ounce of pure silver; low mintage of 200,000.This month's offerings include a mixture of worldwide and U.S. coins, medals, stamps and whatever else falls out of the closet.
