CRL RTV408 Industrial and Construction Silicone
is a neutral cure, medium modulus, 100% Silicone Sealant that cures to a tough, flexible rubber when exposed to moisture. RTV408 features primerless adhesion to: Aluminum, stainless steel, chromium, tin, iron, plastics, rigid PVC, phenolic resin, glass, ceramic, and most reflective-coated glasses.
    BASIC USES:
Its fast cure time and easy tooling make it ideal for many in-house production applications; and it is non-corrosive to most building materials such as glass (including insulating glass), tiles, and sanitary equipment. It seals curtainwall joints; vinyl, steel and aluminum windows; and skylights. It is also used in vehicles, ships, aircraft, as well as for electrical insulation. This silicone does not cause corrosion in contact with metals. It is suitable for alkaline materials such as mortar and cement, and other applications where metal corrosion could be a problem. CRL RTV408 stays flexible and is resistant to cracking or becoming brittle in a wide range of temperatures approximately -65° to 400°F (-54° to 204°C). It can be applied at outdoor temperatures as low as -20°F (-29°C), provided that surfaces are clean, dry and frost-free, or on surfaces as high as 100°F (38°C). RTV408W and RTV408T contain a fungicide, and the cured sealant is mildew resistant.
All CRL Silicone Sealant cartridges are packed with innovative
    Screw-On Nozzles
, offering you a greater yield per tube. They are 4" (101.6 mm) long, and tapered so you can trim the nozzle to exactly the bead size you need.
    LIMITATIONS:
It is not recommended for concrete and stone expansion joints; horizontal decks, patios, driveway or terrace joints where abrasion or physical abuse is encountered; sealing submerged joints, particularly where porous surfaces permit water infiltration to the bond surface; interior or exterior structural sealing below the waterline in marine applications; structural glazing; food contact or potable water applications; mirrors. Check cartridge label and Specification Data Sheet for additional limitations.
    Technical Data:
Meets or exceeds Federal Specifications: TT-S-001543A (COM-NBS) Class A, for silicone building sealants; TT-S-00230C (COM-NBS) Class A, for one-component silicone sealants; ASTM C-920 for elastomeric joint sealants, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, Use NT, G, A and O; CAN/CGSB 19.13-M87. AAMA 802.3-10 Type II, 803.3-10 Type I, and 808.3-10. Meets California Air Resources Board 2003 requirements for Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) content. Qualifies for
    LEED

has a 20 year limited warranty. Once it is applied and thoroughly set up, it is warranted to stay flexible for at least ten years, if properly applied and used under normal conditions.
Not recommended for Aquaria, PMMA, PE, PP, bituminious surfaces and wax or paraffin containing surfaces. Application in poorly ventilated areas which are not exposed to UV light may lead to yellowing this can also occur when in contact with chemical fumes as surfactants, especially during curing.
