Thanks for checking out this listing!
The vital statistics: one 1916-R Italy 2 lire coin; KM# 55; silver 0.8350 fineness, 10 g (0.35 oz) weight, actual silver weight 0.2685 troy oz, 27 mm (1.06 in) diameter.
The obverse features a right facing bust of king Vittorio Emanuale III.  On the reverse is a female figure (a widely used allegory for Italy) standing in a
    quadriga
, a chariot used from the time of ancient Rome until the European middle ages for sport racing.  Four horses harnessed abreast was favored for racing, as opposed to the "four in hand" harness system that placed two horses in front and two in back, which was used for everyday transportation.
